NEW YORK – Christie’s New York online sale of Handbags & Accessories: Summer in the City that concluded July 28 totaled $2,266,750. It marked the highest total for an online handbag sale at Christie’s, with 88% sold by lot and 117% hammer compared to the low estimate. LONDON – 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair has announced its 8th London edition will go ahead at Somerset House on Oct. 8-10. Over the past seven years, 1-54 has established itself as a leading voice in the global discussion on contemporary African art. A scaled-down fair will see around 20 international galleries representing a selection of the best contemporary African artists on show at Somerset House as well as online in partnership with Christie’s.
