LONDON – Dreweatts auctioneers will offer the public a peek at spectacular historic works from country homes across the UK by way of a loan exhibition of works at its London venue. The historical items will be loaned by members of the Historic Houses Association, which this year in conjunction with Dreweatts have created a new award for historic collections. Country House Treasures: An Exhibition of Loans in Partnership with Historic Houses brings together objects collected during the centuries and from across the globe, which are now housed in Britain’s historic homes. The artifacts have become a part of the UK’s national heritage and each has its own story to tell. The exhibition will run from July 11-13.

CINCINNATI – On June 21 and 22, Hindman Auctions’ American Historical Ephemera & Photography sale realized $989,781. The Civil War and American militaria collection of Bruce B. Hermann was the focal point of the auction. DALLAS – The Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) is the lone North American venue for Cartier and Islamic Art: In Search of Modernity, a major exhibition tracing inspirations from Islamic art and design – including from Louis Cartier’s exquisite collection of Persian and Indian art – on the creations of the Maison Cartier from the early 20th century to present day. The show debuted on May 14 and will continue through September 18.

BOSTON (AP) – Employees at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts ratified their first labor deal on June 28, becoming the latest prestigious art institution to protect workers with a union contract. The collective bargaining agreement is the first since museum workers voted to join the United Auto Workers Local 2110 in November 2020, the union and management said in a joint statement.

DALLAS – One of the rarest artifacts of Bob Dylan’s illustrious career will get a spin in Heritage Auctions’ Music Memorabilia Signature® Auction July 9-10. Dylan’s 1963 original Freewheelin’ album includes four tracks that were deleted and ultimately replaced by others before the album was distributed upon its release in May 1963. Almost all of the mono and stereo copies of the album with the original musical lineup were destroyed.
