Setting out for the fifth year in a row to disprove the auction community’s belief that the hottest month of the year is better spent at the beach, co-founder Robert Roland remarked “The fact that our August sales have been among the most robust of the entire year runs contrary to the traditional auction model … accessibility is our strength.” Moreover, as Roland’s client base – now in the tens of thousands – continues to multiply, the word is out that Roland Auctions NY consistently brings together superior merchandise with an international network of enthusiastic bidders for spirited auction action continuing month after month.

The contents of this month’s auction represent selections from around the world, including choice estates throughout Manhattan, Greenwich, Conn., Rye, N.Y., and Istanbul, Turkey.

Modern and contemporary design has a robust showing with an array of seating, case pieces, floor coverings and lighting.

Fresh-to-market fine art will have bidders vying for paintings, sculpture, prints, and photography unavailable in the marketplace for decades.

Sterling and Continental silver features a large English sterling silver punch bowl weighing 123 troy ounces. Other masterfully accomplished objects include flatware sets, serving articles, candlesticks and much more.

Chinese and Asian art is represented by a generous offering of items accomplished in porcelain, bronze, cloisonné enamel and carved jade. These are accompanied by a selection of furniture, devotional objects and silk scroll paintings.

Jewelry and fashion accessory enthusiasts will vie for gold and silver pieces with masterful precious and semiprecious stone settings including diamonds, sapphires and emeralds. Additional items include amber and pearl elements. Notable designers include Cartier and Vacheron & Constantin.
