ORLANDO, FLA. – The Seaway China Magical Weekend Collectors Convention, a three-day event combining the energy of an international Royal Doulton convention with the excitement and spontaneity of a live auction, will take place Jan. 12-14 at the Grove Resort and Spa, 14501 Grove Resort Ave. The auction will be conducted by Whitley’s Auctioneers on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 2 p.m. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

Presented by Arron Rimpley and Gregg Whittecar of Seaway China and Whitley’s Auctioneers, the Magical Weekend is a dream event for Royal Doulton collectors, featuring special guests, expert discussions, the return of old friends, delicious meals, shopping opportunities and the opportunity for collectors to claim special pieces. Many hard-to-find figurines, earthenware pieces, toby and character jugs, and other rare and unusual items will be available.

For the first time, an exclusive selection of pieces consigned from estates from around the world will be sold at auction by Whitley’s Auctioneers. Based in Dania Beach, the company has been selling British ceramics and pottery for more than 25 years.

The featured guest speakers will include author and internationally renowned ceramics expert Christopher Evans, and Louise Irvine, executive director of the Wiener Museum of Decorative Arts, home to North America’s largest collection of fine British and European porcelain.
