GLEN COVE, N.Y. – A stunning Antonio Lopez 1982 mixed media on paper artwork of supermodel Jerry Hall in a pink and black Oscar de la Renta dress earned top lot status at Roland Auctions NY‘s December 4 sale. It featured items from the estate of well-known Manhattan gallerist Eleanor Ettinger, whose eponymous West 57th Street gallery opened in 1975 and became a fixture in the New York art world.

The signed work sold for $10,625 and was one of several sought-after pieces from the Ettinger estate. Antonio Lopez’s fashion illustrations helped define fashion in the 1970s and 1980s with his bold, dynamic images.

Other artworks that performed well in the December 4 sale include a 1967 Emilio Grau-Sala painting of a mother and child that sold for $8,750.

Leading the jewelry selections was a Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra 20-motif necklace in rock crystal and 18K gold, which sold for $18,750. Also performing well was an Art Deco-style contemporary Duke bar by Ralph Lauren, with removable drinks tray, which achieved $16,250.

Roland also offered a circa-1760 Italian Rococo period fruitwood, kingwood and parquetry inlaid bombe commode with fine bronze mounts, which sold for $4,375.

In addition, a Meissen ornate Rococo Revival centerpiece bowl with oblong Meissen porcelain bowl bearing floral decoration, featuring bronze dore supports with Bacchus figures and double dragon handles, sold for $3,125.
