LONDON – Christie’s designer handbag online auction that concluded on June 25 totaled £1,337,750, or $1,694,929. The top lot of the sale was a rare Hermès matte white Himalaya Niloticus Crocodile Birkin 30 with palladium hardware, 2016, which surpassed its £80,000 estimate and sold for £125,000 / $158,375 / €139,750. Further highlights of the sale included a Hermès custom Matte Mimosa Alligator Birkin 25 with palladium hardware, 2017 (estimate: £35,000-£40,000), which achieved £43,750 / $55,431 / €48,913 and a Hermès Matte Poussière Porosus Crocodile Retourné Kelly 28 with palladium hardware, 2015 (estimate: £15,000-£20,000), which realized £37,500 / $47,513 / €41,925.
