CHICAGO – Hindman Auctions’ September 13 Important Jewelry auction realized more than $2.2 million, and tremendous bidding activity throughout the sale contributed to a 95% sell-through rate. A selection of diamond rings led the sale, with additional diamond lots also drawing active biding. Property from the collection of an elegant lady from Palm Beach, Florida; the collection of Mrs. A. Edward Allinson of Palm Beach, Florida and the Hirschfield estate of Santa Barbara, California, brought excellent results.

Exquisite Diamonds Rings Drive Incredible Results

A spectacular diamond ring by Taffin, the catalog cover lot, saw fantastic bidding engagement and ultimately achieved $387,500. The ring contains a cushion cut diamond weighing 5.89 carats and is Internally Flawless, D color and is Type IIa (which is a classification for the most chemically pure diamonds).

A diamond ring with a 5.12 carat emerald-cut diamond surpassed its presale estimate and sold for $181,250. An impressive diamond ring containing one pear-shape diamond exceeded its estimate and sold for $118,750. Another standout diamond ring containing an emerald-cut diamond realized $115,625, nearly double its estimate.  

Additional highlights included a Verdura, yellow gold, multigem and diamond Sunbust cuff bracelet, which exceeded its estimate and ultimately realized $43,750. Also, a stunning Tiffany & Co. diamond bracelet sold for $37,500, triple its presale estimate.
