LAMBERTVILLE, N.J. – Rago/Wright‘s Fall Jewelry/Watches & Timepieces sale, held October 20, did not disappoint. The event was also the first presentation of watches and timepieces under the Rago/Wright banner.

In the Watches & Timepieces section of the sale, Rolex achieved strong results, with the Big Red Daytona Cosmograph selling for $125,000, well beyond its estimate of $80,000. Another highlight was the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Model 5402 ST Jumbo stainless steel wristwatch, which more than doubled its high estimate of $50,000, selling for $106,250.

Adding to the excitement of these favorable results, Rago/Wright is pleased to announce that Josh Hendizadeh has joined the company as Lead Watch Specialist. Hendizadeh has acted as Chapter Head of RedBar Los Angeles since 2017, and is an avid watch collector. He is based in Los Angeles, and you may contact him regarding watches and timepieces in future auctions at josh@ragoarts.com.

Reflecting on the success of Watches & Timepieces, Hendizadeh offers, “The auction achieved some strong results as we come out of the Covid pandemic — sport models are taking center stage at the moment, but with the strong result of Patek Philippe’s World Time model, we see a bright future for more classic pieces.”
