RICHMOND HILL, Ontario – The best in fine art, modern paintings and Asian art will be available to the highest bidder in 888 Auctions’ two-day sale, Nov. 8-9. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

The star attraction of the 878-lot auction is a 19th-century scroll painting attributed to Fei Yigeng. Featuring a courtyard scene with various figures, this signed and attributed piece is inscribed with two artist seals and fully stretched measures 1,000 cm/400 inches long. Fei Yigeng was the son of Qin Dynasty painter Fei Danxu. Lot 14 is expected to exceed its high estimate of $35,000.

Western art continues to garner significant interest at 888 Auctions and that tradition continues into the winter season with the inclusion of six lots currently gaining great attention at the gallery showroom. One lot highlighted among these pieces can be found at Lot 104, an attributed Edward Hopper (American, 1882-1967) gouache and oil on paper (high estimate: $5,000). Featuring a woman standing beside a filing cabinet, this scene was a common motif in Hopper’s pieces with his wife acting as the subject.

Another lot sure to be a crowd pleaser is slotted in at Lot 150, an attributed to Winston Churchill (British, 1874-1965) oil on canvas painting, featuring a landscape scene. This painting is expected to exceed its high estimate of $9,500.

The other star lots highlighted in the sale are:

– Lot 119: Attributed Vincent Van Gogh (Dutch, 1853-1890) oil on canvas (high estimate: $6,000).

– Lot 522: Attributed Marc Chagall (French, 1887-1985) gouache on paper (high estimate: $5,000).

– Lot 496: Attributed Henri De Toulouse-Lautrec (French, 1864-1901) watercolor (high estimate: $6,000).

High-quality jade carved pieces continue to be a staple at 888 Auctions. Therefore, with two lots headlining this category, many interested collectors can bid with full confidence. Lot 247, a Chinese Hetian green jade dragon seal carries a high estimate of $6,000 and features a relief carved dragon sitting atop a rectangular section with seal scripted carved on the face.

Lot 259 is a Burma jadeite carved bangle carries a high estimate of $800 and features a rounded interior and exterior diameter and is of translucent emerald green tone.
