A British favorite, Rowley’s plans Sept. 11-12 auction of outstanding art and antiques

NEWMARKET, UK – While the independent British company Rowley’s Antiques and Fine Art Auctioneers is headquartered in the historic cathedral city of Ely, four times a year they conduct well attended sales at the prestigious Tattersalls Sale Ring in Newmarket, Suffolk. Their next big event will be held Sept. 11-12, with absentee and Internet live bidding available through LiveAuctioneers.
Antiques, fine art and decorative furnishings will cross the auction block, with a list of subcategories that is both impressive and diverse. Just a sampling reveals an enviable selection of art, clocks, barometers, silver and silver plate, jewelry, watches and objects of vertu, pottery, porcelain and glassware, pictures, prints and engravings, furniture and furnishings.

One of the many reasons Rowley’s is such a favorite with collectors and dealers alike is that there’s so much variety, one never knows what will turn up in their sales. For example, there are few artists whose work is more sought after than Banksy. The elusive graffiti artist occupies a place of his own in the contemporary art market.
