NEW YORK – Doyle will hold an auction in the popular Fine Jewelry category on Wednesday, April 7 at noon Eastern time. The sale showcases a wide range of jewelry by prestigious makers such as Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, Bulgari, JAR and Tiffany & Co., as well as fine watches for ladies and gentlemen by Rolex, Cartier, Piaget and Bulgari. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.
The offerings include an unforgettable Frascarolo 18K gold, enamel, and diamond horse bangle made in Italy. Decorated with royal blue enamel, round rubies for eyes, and a golden mane, it is estimated at $8,000-$12,000.
Also notable is an Emis pair of gold, platinum, turquoise, sapphire, and diamond pendant ear clips, estimated at $3,000-$5,000, and a 14K white gold diamond ring featuring an emerald-cut stone of 2.08 carats. This last carries an estimate of $7,000-$9,000.
A total of 29 lots in the Fine Jewelry auction are from the collection of Panamanian entrepreneur and philanthropist Greta Crusoe, who established the luxury swimwear label, Perla Negra, which translates as “black pearl.” While none of the pieces Crusoe consigned feature black pearls, they include alluring and tasteful items such as a wide, flexible 18K white gold bracelet graced with 38.32 carats of diamonds, estimated at $18,000-$22,000, and also an 18K white gold and diamond fringe necklace estimated at $15,000-$20,000. The necklace measures 16 5/8in and features stones cut in round, marquise, and pear shapes.
