HATFIELD, Pa. – Alderfer’s Auctioneers & Appraisers will sell the collection of Chuck Medwork, a Lone Ranger impersonator, on Nov. 21 in an online-only auction. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.com.

Chuck Medwork is a present-day Lone Ranger impersonator, participating in countless reenactments as well as appearing in the Rose Bowl Parades and Philadelphia Phillies pregame shows. He also produced a movie titled Cowboys of Yesteryear.

Over the years Medwork has built a noteworthy biography and an impressive assortment of collectibles. His personal collection of unique and impressive items, from the past and present, include a dozen mannequins, two life-size horses, saddles, harness, guns, action figures and Native American items.

The Lone Ranger was the highest-rated television program on ABC in the early 1950s and the network’s first true hit series. The concept of the Lone Ranger dates back to 1949, when the Western television series first aired. Actor Clayton Moore was the original Lone Ranger, a role he took to heart and carried into his personal life long after the series ended.

The fictional story line maintains that a patrol of six Texas Rangers are ambushed by a gang out outlaws, killing all but one. The lone survivor thereafter disguises himself with a black mask and travels with a Native American sidekick named Tonto. They roam from Texas throughout the American West to assist those challenged by lawless elements. A silver mine supplied the Lone Ranger with the name of his horse, as well as funds required to finance his nomadic lifestyle.
