All-American coins to change hands in online auction Jan. 15

NEW YORK – Good old American dollars and cents are on the block in an Exclusive Coins Auction that will be conducted by Jasper52 on Wednesday, Jan. 15. The sale consists of nearly 100 lots of gold and silver dollars, commemorative gold coins and other scarce coins. Bid absentee or live online exclusively through LiveAuctioneers.  

A handful of $20 Double Eagles, each estimated at $2,000-$2,500, is presented in the sale, including an 1878-S Liberty Head Double Eagle (above) that is graded XF40.

A beautiful 1927 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle (below) in the auction is graded MS63.

Ten different commemorative $10 gold coins from the First Spouse Series are expected to sell for $800-$1,000 each. First Ladies included are Patricia Nixon, Jacqueline Kennedy, Mamie Eisenhower, Elizabeth Truman, Eleanor Roosevelt, Helen Taft, Frances Cleveland, Caroline Harrison, Lucrecia Garfield and Mary Todd Lincoln.

Modern $10 American Eagles include a 1991-P half-ounce Proof Gold American Eagle, which measures 22 millimeters in diameter and is graded PF69.

Three dozen Morgan silver dollars, issued from 1878 to 1921, are offered with estimates ranging from $40 to $250 apiece.
