NEW YORK – “It’s not a bag, it’s a Birkin!” And Jasper52 will offer nearly 90 of these coveted items in an exclusive Hermès auction July 31. These iconic bags, rare accessories and home furnishings embody the rich history, expert craftsmanship and attention to detail the house of Hermès is celebrated for. The top prize in this 318-lot auction is a Hermes Birkin 35 Himalaya Blanc in crocodile and Palladium hardware (above). New or never used, this Birkin comes with its lock, keys, clochette, sleeper, and signature Hermès box and ribbon. It measures 35 centimeters (14inches) long by 11 inches high. The reserve, or minimum bid, on this rare Birkin is $245,000.

An ultra-chic Hermès purple bag in luminous purple Swift leather and Palladium hardware has a double gusset. With a 22-inch-long strap, the 7-inch-long bag can be carried by hand, over the shoulder or even cross-body. It comes with a signature Hermès orange box and sleeper. The bag carries at $20,000-$24,000 estimate and a $16,500 reserve.

Numerous pieces of apparel will be offered including a Hermès silk jacket in a vintage Terres Precieuses scarf print. The size large jacket has a zip front with two side notches. It reverses to a deep slate blue and has two side pockets and two zip pockets on the reverse side (est. $6,000-$7,000).

Famous also for scarves, Hermès is represented by a dozen of these colorful silk wraps in the Jasper52 auction. The Hermès Fleurs De Giverny limited edition scarf pays tribute to Claud Monet in its delicate arrangements of flowers. The 36-inch square scarf comes in a signature Hermès box with its ribbon (est. $1,000-$1,200).
