NEW YORK – On Sunday, Nov. 4, Auctions at Showplace will hold an auction consisting of fine and decorative arts, furniture and, lighting—over 300 lots. The top lot is a fine and rare Camille Faure French Art Deco enamel vase. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.
In addition to the Faure vase (above), porcelain and crystal featured in the sale include an assembled set of Minton dishes made up of two very similar patterns and made for Tiffany, a Zsolnay Pecs Hungarian Art nouveau baluster vase, a Baccarat “Ramses Trylon” tabletop obelisk and a Val St. Lambert Art Deco Girofla Luxval vase.
Jewelry highlights are a 14K and diamond pendant necklace, a 14K and 18K charm bracelet, an Edwardian 18K diamond pendant necklace and an 18K diamond and aquamarine ring (below).
Silver is represented by a fine Luen Wo Chinese Export five-piece tea set, a Hanau Germany rooster in the Buccellati-manner, an International Silver flatware service in the Sedan pattern and a Reed & Barton pitcher.
Furniture includes a number of mid-century modern pieces such as a pair of Alvar Aalto side tables, Juns Risom chairs, four Harry Bertoia for Knoll “Wire” side chairs, and an Ernest Boiceau pair of Art Deco gondola chairs.
Fine art offerings on display are a Jean Sala oil on canvas of Paul Porel, an Ilya Bolotowsky acrylic on diamond-form canvas, a Max Weber oil on canvas of soldiers on a beach, three Stephen Conway etchings, a Nino Young oil on canvas of a woman with a dove, Shlomo Haziza sculptural acrylic tabletop works, and a Louis Fabian oil on canvas of a standing nude.
Other featured items include several Pre-Columbian terra-cotta figures, a Karl Hagenauer Vienna Art Deco copper and brass coffee service, a mid-century modern Cedric Hartman floor lamp, Casella Modernist tubular brass desk lamp, Edith Parsons bronze “Puppies” bookends, an Emil Stejnar light-up mirror, a 19th-century French gilt metal mercantile scales with a set of Spanish brass weights, and a vintage English brass tabletop adjustable telescope.
