Big-name designer handbags come in clutch at Nov. 23 auction

Yves Saint Laurent Carre shoulder bag in royal purple calfskin leather, estimated at $3,000-$3,500

NEW YORK – On Wednesday, November 23, starting at 7 pm Eastern time, Jasper52 will offer a sale of Designer Handbags and Clutches – more than 750 lots of pieces by virtually every great brand name in the category. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

Markedly well represented in the lineup is Louis Vuitton, which contributes a GO-14 mini chain shoulder bag in embossed, dyed red lambskin; a Grenelle PM bag in rose ballerine pink Epi grained cowhide leather; an Eye Love You multicolor noir Takashi Murakami limited edition monogram canvas handbag; and a Christopher PM Damier graphite backpack with a rainbow logo.

Balenciaga appears in several forms, including a BB silver glittered leather wallet-on-chain bag; a Classic City Marine small satchel bag with Bordeaux-colored stripes; a Bazar multicolor striped leather cross-body bag; and another Bazar, a Graffiti black leather pouch emblazoned in blue and purple with phrases such as “REALITY IS WRONG, DREAMS ARE FOR REAL” and “YOUR FAILURES WILL LEAD YOU TO YOUR SUCCESS.”

Other entries include a Versace La Medusa quilted white lambskin leather cross-body shoulder bag; a Gucci 100 Centennial Music is Mine jacquard and leather duffle bag; a Christian Dior Lady Dior medium handbag in quilted pink cannage lambskin leather; a Salvatore Ferragamo Beky purple and red leather tote or shoulder bag; a Jimmy Choo mini Rebel cross-body bag in pink, with a silver chain; and a Bottega Veneta BV Snap clutch in maxi woven leather with a Burgundy hue.

Earning highlight status is a Chanel backpack fashioned from quilted, printed Foulard fabric. The striking functional piece features a multicolor splash pattern dominated by salmon pink and royal blue. The condition of the pre-owned backpack is described as “Excellent, near mint, [with] only slight signs of use.” It has an estimate of $3,500-$4,000.

Fendi Baguette pouch in sky blue leather, estimated at $2,500-$3,000

Equally worthy of attention is a Fendi Baguette pouch in sky blue calfskin leather, estimated at $2,500-$3,000. It features silver-tone hardware and comes with authenticity cards, a Fendi dust bag and a Fendi box.

Also showcased is an Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) Carre shoulder bag in ultra-soft royal purple calfskin leather. It is graced with antiqued silver-tone metal hardware and is accompanied by a dust bag and authenticity cards. It carries an estimate of  $3,000-$3,500.
