Bronze figures at the fore of Jasper52 auction Dec. 16
NEW YORK – Jasper52 will conduct an Exquisite Decorative Arts online auction on Wednesday, Dec. 16. The auction consists of well over 700 lots of decorative arts to enhance any interior, from art glass to bronze sculptures. Bid absentee or live online exclusively through LiveAuctioneers.
The sale is a mix of contemporary and antique objects. The latter category is led by a 19th century French figural clock depicting an Arab on horseback. This impressive timepiece has a $13,500 reserve.
An antique bronze sculpture of a Spartan archer by Otto Schmidt-Hofer (German, 1873-1925) stands almost 23 inches high. The sculptor’s work was primarily Neoclassical and Art Nouveau between 1893-1914 and Art Deco from 1915 until his death. This formidable bronze carries an estimate of $21,700-$31,000.

Among the contemporary pieces in the auction is an 8-inch-high blown Bohemian blown-glass vase in the Art Nouveau style popular at the turn of the 20th century (est. $600-$700).
An antique metal box decorated with embossed hunt scenes is in excellent condition. It measures about 4½ by 4¾ by 5 inches (est. $800-$1,000).

Porcelain featured in the sale includes an antique hand-painted Japanese tea set (est. $900-$1,100.
