DENVER – High Victorian furniture reigns as Bruhns Auction Gallery prepares to conduct its Summer Antiques Estates Auction on Saturday, Aug. 8, beginning at 11 a.m. Mountain time. LiveAuctioneers.com will provide absentee and Internet live bidding.

Highlighting the 205-lot auction will be an American five-piece bedroom set of burl walnut with ebonized and gilded trim and marble tops, an American walnut burl four-piece marble-top bedroom set (below), a Victorian walnut triple-front bookcase, a quartersawn oak partners desk with leather top and a Mercier Brothers French Renaissance Revival-style walnut sideboard with carved crest, gargoyles and dragons.

Noteworthy artwork includes a Bernard Buffet oil on board floral still life (below) and an oil painting on canvas of two peacocks on a floral background.

The auction will open with selection of antique banquet lamps. Grouped throughout the auction are more than three dozen antique clocks.

Glass and ceramic items include Orrefors Swedish crystal and a Bavarian china dinnerware service for 18 with additional serving pieces.
