Faith Ringgold’s work presents a critical perspective on American identity. Her narrative quilts, which she is best known for, denounce racism and discrimination, while evoking the importance of family, roots and the artists’ connection to community.

Directly from the artist’s estate, this sale will feature two works by Michael Loew. These pieces come from Loew’s later works, which, compared to earlier pieces, are recognizable for their sharp geometric edges. A student of Hans Hoffman and Fernand Leger, Loew had a long and distinguished career.
