NEW YORK – On Tuesday, April 9, Capsule Gallery will conduct a spring sale of design, craft, editions and sculpture, culled from exciting estates and collections in New York City, Westchester County and Little Deer Isle, Maine. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

Of particular note for its depth and breadth are highlights being presented from the sophisticated studio pottery collection of Arthur and Lillian Weiss. Collectors of everything from modern art & design to antique Asian, African and pre-Columbian crafts, the keen-eyed couple had enthusiasm for collecting great things across many spectrums, which is evident in the many varied collections they put together in their home in Little Deer Isle. Beginning in Philadelphia, then to New York and finally Maine, the trajectory of their collecting changed focus in each location. In Maine, their passion for craft really grew, and they began gathering works by Karen Karnes, Otto and Vivika Heino, Warren MaKenzie, David Shaner, Shiro Tsujimura and many more.
