MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Charleston Estate Auctions’ Fall premium auction on Sept. 29 is packed with exceptional fine art, incredible Chinese antiques from Beijing, a large collection of elaborate American sterling and coin silver, a large collection of Herend porcelain figurines, fine quality antique furniture, jewelry, art glass, Persian carpets and more. There is a very large group of exceptional and rare antique Chinese porcelain, framed silk collars, furniture and more from a Charleston, S.C./ Beijing, China, estate. Many of the items offered were not made for the Western market.

For the Historic Charleston collectors, there will be several items from the estate of George Alfred Trenholm (1807-1876). Trenholm was a South Carolina businessman, financier, politician and planter who owned several plantations and strongly supported the Confederate States of America. He was appointed as its secretary of the treasury during the final year of the American Civil War. Items include a rare Lefaucheux Brevet 20-shot pinfire double-barrel double-action revolver with a folding trigger.
