LOS ANGELES – China Arts of Southern California will present a stunning array of decorative and fine Asian art treasures on Friday, Jan. 18, both at its showroom in San Gabriel, and with Internet live bidding through LiveAuctioneers.com.

China Arts recently completed a successful November auction and is following up with an unforgettable new year event. Items include an astonishingly comprehensive array of Asian Arts and masterworks including handcrafted teapots, carved jade figurines, intricate snuff bottles and museum-worthy paintings and furniture.

“This will be an amazingly diverse offering,” said curator Lisal Ong. “We will be featuring an array of artisanal works from a variety of periods and a range of price points. It’s an excellent opportunity for the discerning collector to acquire significant pieces to add to their collection, or for the first-time bidder to acquire their first meaningful piece.”

One quintessential example from the Jan.18 auction is lot 351, a uniquely designed cylindrical shape jade-mounted canister from the Qing period, featuring five petal prunus floral designs.

Also noteworthy is lot 425, a large jadeite sculpture of a child riding a large intricately carved koi with a lotus flower in hand. The large luminous fish swims among delicate sea grasses and mounted on a beautiful dark wooden base.

Another cornerstone of the auction is a collection of carved nephrite jade plaques including lots 312, 314 and 315, which have been commissioned by a Japanese collector in Hawaii.

The proprietors of China Arts have married their long held passion for collectibles with a decade of expert sales and acquisitions for their growing network of international clients. With a promising first year based in Southern California, they have plans in place for quarterly auctions. Many new clientele have come to know the burgeoning gallery through online catalogs posted on LiveAuctioneers.com.

The Jan. 18 sale will begin at 1 p.m. PST. For additional information regarding any lots call Lisal Ong at 626-345-8668.

Internet live bidding will be provided by LiveAuctioneers.com.
