Classic to modern gold and diamond jewelry showcased in March 15 auction

NEW YORK – An 18K gold, carved mother-of-pearl and diamond bangle bracelet, a GIA-certified 32.88-carat rough diamond set in a pendant, and a sapphire and diamond cocktail ring centered on a 4.32-carat GIA-certified stone will likely earn top lot status at Jasper52’s Classic to Modern Gold & Diamond Jewelry auction, which will be held on Wednesday, March 15 at 8 pm Eastern time. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.
The 419-lot sale is brimming with temptations that include a veritable rainbow of sapphires, most GIA-certified and all set in rings. These include a 13.33-carat unheated blue sapphire; another natural stone weighing 7.45 carats and sporting an orange-yellow hue; a green-blue unheated example of 3.35 carats; a 5.61-carat natural yellow sapphire; a striking 3.96-carat natural vivid purple gem; an 8.02-carat natural cushion cut sapphire in a strong shade of blue, which sits like the sun within a halo of ray-like baguette cut diamonds; and a 1.14-carat natural orange-pink Padparadscha sapphire.

Other statement stones set in rings include a 5.40-carat natural emerald; a 16.08-carat cushion cut peridot; a ruby of 16.37 carats; a natural red tourmaline weighing 21.13 carats; a deep blue octagonal modified brilliant cut tanzanite of 13.56 carats; and a jaw-dropping cushion cut aquamarine that weighs in at 36.10 carats.
Also demanding mention among the statement stones is one of the three highlights of the March 15 sale: a 32.88-carat GIA-certified rough diamond that has been fashioned into a 14K white gold pendant with yellow sapphires. The visually striking diamond pendant carries an estimate of $32,000-$38,000.
Another standout is an 18K gold, carved mother-of-pearl and diamond bangle bracelet that has an estimate of $12,000-$14,000. Spanning seven inches and weighing 53 grams (almost two ounces), the bangle bracelet features 1.30 carats of natural diamonds in both round and full cuts, the stones having G-H colors and Vs-2 Si-1 clarity.
Rounding out the highlights is a 14K white gold, sapphire and diamond cocktail ring that is centered on a 4.32-carat GIA-certified unheated stone. It boasts 3.73 additional carats of oval sapphires and also 1.05 carats of diamonds of G-color and Vs-2 clarity. The ring, a size 6.5, is estimated at $17,000-$20,000.
