NEW YORK – Four hundred lots of colorful loose gemstones, highlighted by fancy colored diamonds, are offered in a Jasper52 online auction taking place Tuesday, June 4. Certified natural emeralds, sapphires, opals and topaz are also featured in the auction. Bid absentee or live online exclusively through LiveAuctioneers.

This diverse loose gemstone auction showcases a variety of cuts, stones and colors. The auction is the answer for anyone who has a favorite piece of jewelry languishing in a drawer for lack of an appropriate gemstone. Having loose gemstones allows the owner to design his or her your own jewelry or come up with the concept for a jeweler to create the desired setting.

Among the top highlights in the sale is a 1.51 carat natural fancy deep yellow/orange cushion-shaped diamond. Best suited for a pendant and ring centerpiece, the diamond (above) is GIA certified and has a $16,000-$18,000 estimate.

Another fancy vivid yellow diamond, 1.75 carats and cut in a cushion shape, is De Beers certified and estimated at $3,500-$4,000.

Bigger still is a 2.12 carat fancy brownish greenish yellow pear-shaped diamond displaying VS1 clarity, which is expected to sell for $11,000-$13,000.

A 0.52 carat fancy brownish pink diamond cut in a radiant shape is also GIA certified and expected to sell for $5,500-$6,000.

More than a dozen sapphires are listed in the auction catalog including a 1.02 carat blue sapphire of Sri Lankan origin that is certified not to have been heat treated ($1,000-$2,000.)
