Feb. 4 online auction of couture features YSL, Dior, Chanel and more

NEW YORK – A Jasper52 auction of couture fashion – gowns, dresses, boots and bags – will be conducted online on Tuesday, Feb. 4, beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern time. Yves Saint Laurent, Bill Blass, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada and Hermes are a few of the fashion designers represented in this carefully curated auction. Bid absentee or live online exclusively through LiveAuctioneers. A handful of handbags are offered in the auction including a Prada jacquard hobo-style bag from the early 2000s (above). The zippered bag feathers a large crested “PRADA MILANO” logo woven into the face and is finished with silver hardware and red leather trip. It measures 14 ½ inches long by 10 inches high and has a 14-inch-long strap. The bag is in overall excellent condition; two slight marks are noted on the back side (est. $300-$400).
Awaiting a spring break getaway is a Louis Vuitton Sirius 70 monogram suitcase. This single- compartment suitcase is the largest member of the Sirius family. This soft suitcase is constructed of Louis Vuitton’s durable monogram canvas with cowhide corners and top handles. “SP” in date code indicates it was made in Louis Vuitton’s French factory (est. $800-$1,000).

From the early ’90s and in excellent condition is a navy velvet cocktail dress by Chanel. The dress features a corset bodice and Chanel chain straps and is fully lined in silk. It is cut full at the hips, and measures 29½ inches at the waist and 34 inches at the bust (est. $800-$1,000).

One of several ensembles in the auction is a black wool cape and skirt from the 1970s by an unidentified designer. The 50-inch-long cape features a buckle closure at neck and contrasting chestnut leather piping throughout. The skirt has a natural high waist and straight cut, featuring corresponding chestnut leather trim. There is a cursive “P” on the gold chain detail of the cape (est. $550-$700).

Also from the ’70s is a pair of knee-high boots by Saks Fifth Avenue. Saks 5th Avenue label pony hair night heel boots from the 1970s. The giraffe-print pony hair covers the entire exterior of the boot from top to toe and heel. The interior is lined in black leather and in excellent condition. The boots are marked size 8½, but fits closer to an 8 (est. $300-$350).
