Art VIP to auction Monroe painting, rare Dali collage Aug. 3
SANTA FE, N.M. – A Salvador Dali collage consisting of original drawings will be sold at auction Aug. 3 on LiveAuctioneers.com by Art VIP Charity Auction House.
The original drawings and collage by Dali (lot 255) are hand-signed by the artist. This rare artwork has $50,000-$55,000 estimate. It is exquisitely custom framed with a hand-wrapped linen mat. It comes with a certificate of authenticity by European authority Monsieur Robert Descharnes. The artwork, shown in the Perrot Moore book, is approximately 24 inches by 28 inches. The circa 1947 work is from a private collection.
Twenty percent of this auction’s proceeds goes to charity.
Salvador Dali (Spain, 1904-1989) is one of the greatest surrealists of our time best known for his ability to translate dreams into artwork. He called them “hand-painted dream photographs.” He was also a sculptor, filmmaker and writer.
