Dallas Auction Gallery opens fall with Asian sale Sept. 7-8

DALLAS – Dallas Auction Gallery will kick off their fall auction schedule with a two-day Asian Antiques and Fine Art Auction on Sept. 7-8. The auction will begin at 6 p.m. Central both days. Bidders from around the world bid will have the opportunity to compete for over 800 lots of Asian antiques and fine art.

The highlight of this sale is a Chinese Qing Huanghuali six-post canopy bed with an estimate of $800,000-$1,200,000. The posts of the rare bed are joined by a low railing of 12 open-work carved panels depicting chi-dragons and characters for longevity.

Joining the Huanghuali bed is a large selection of Chinese Cultural Revolution carvings, impressive collection of ivory, beautiful jade and diamond jewelry, high quality jade, a late Ming-early Qing rhinoceros horn libation cup, Japanese wakazashi and tango swords from the Meiji period, and Qing Famille Rose porcelain.

Featured will be a Chinese Ming bronze Buddha’s head raised on a wood stand (est.: $50,000-$80-000), a rare Chinese Qing carved red coral figure depicting a Guanyin standing on a flying dragon (est.: $10,000-$15,000), a Chinese carved polychrome ivory nine-dragon wall panel (est. $20,000-$30,000), and a pair of platinum, diamond and green jadeite earrings mounted with a pair of mottled green translucent natural jadeite cabochons encircled by 62 round brilliant-cut diamonds (est.: $9,000-$14,000).
