Perhaps most astonishing amongst this offering is the handwritten Shakespeare poem. Fully authenticated under scrutiny of Charles Hamilton, the foremost authority of his generation, the brief document described in its accompanying letter of certification as a “poem,” is an easily recognized excerpt from the play Othellospoken by Iago:

“Good name in man and woman, dear my lord,/Is the immediate jewel of their souls. /Who steals my purse steals trash. /’Tis something, nothing; /’Twas mine, ’tis his, and has been slave to thousands. /But he that filches from me my good name /Robs me of that which not enriches him /And makes me poor indeed.”

The text is written in ink on vellum by the bard himself, with his signature and a flawless wax seal.
