Designer Fashion Auction Jan. 9 is in the bags

NEW YORK – More than 200 fashion designer bags are complemented by several dozen lots of couture in a Jasper52 online auction set for Wednesday, Jan. 9. Chanel, Prada, Valentino, Gucci, Fendi and Louis Vuitton are a few of the famous names offered in this large auction. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

Like many of the items in this auction, a Valentino Rockstud large clutch wrist bag (above) is in mint condition, having never been used. It is expected to sell for $800 to $1,000.

Also in excellent condition is a Prada black Tessuto Collage tote that’s the canvas for a print titled Impossible True Love by German artist Christophe Chemin. Made in Italy, this tote comes with Prada cards and its original dust bag.

A vintage Chanel white leather drawstring bag in the auction has been well used and shows some loss of gilding on the hardware and the internal logo and the “Made in Italy” logo have faded (est. $1,000-$1,500).

Another Chanel offering is a vintage black quilted leather handbag in excellent condition, having some light scratches on the leather due to normal use (est. $1,500-$2,000).

More than a dozen dresses are available in this auction. One of the standouts is a Dolce & Gabbana red and black floral dress of embroidered silk and cotton. This size 42 dress (small/medium) is in excellent condition (est. $1,500-$2,000).
