CLINTONDALE, N.Y. – On Monday, October 4, Kensington Estate Auction’s online auction will tempt the collector and dealer alike. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

An eclectic array of items from fine art, antiques, Persian rugs, antiquarian books, photographs, sculptures, and ethnographic objects from the 18th through the 21st centuries and everything in between will be offered.

An exceedingly rare silk theatrical advertising banner from the 1935 exploitation thriller movie Marihuana should draw a wealth of interest and will likely exceed its pre-sale estimate of $500-$1,000.

Another standout is a 19th-century bronze coconut bell and inkwell in the form of a New Zealand Maori warrior. The figure sports a bronze head, legs, arms and club with a coconut body. It is estimated at $1,000-$2,000.

An extraordinary 19th-century Russian Oklad icon set in a gilt frame and kiot masterfully blends the traditional with the modern. This hand-painted wood icon features an ornate gilt frame and a Cyrillic inscription, and is estimated at $500-$1,000.

Also on offer is a strong piece by the graffiti artist LA II. The artist painted the mannequin and dubbed it Safe Sex. It carries an estimate of $600-$800.

The October 4 sale lineup also boasts matchless original Hollywood photographs, many of which are inscribed. Leading the selection, which ranges from horror, cult, suspense, planetary invasion and suspense films, is a silver gelatin print of Alfred Hitchcock, estimated at $300-$500.
