Exciting gemstones set off jewelry array at Kaminski sale Dec. 13

BEVERLY, Mass. – Kaminski Auctions’ Dec. 13 holiday auction presents an impressive array of fine jewelry including estate pieces from the collection of Ruth L. Harris of Boston, just in time for Christmas.

The star lot of the sale is an 18K gold bracelet and necklace set (below), with coral and diamonds, which is estimated at $20,000-$25,000. From a New York collection, the necklace has 3.64 carats of diamonds and 166.7 grams of coral.

A platinum and diamond necklace with 16 carats of diamonds and a total 45.8 grams troy weight comes to the auction from the same collection, estimated at $18,000-$22,000.

Several exceptional rings will be offered. One is a platinum ring featuring a 9.21-carat cabochon Ceylon sapphire and 1.17 carats of diamonds. This ring is estimated at $16,000-$22,000. A 14K gold ring with a 12.21-carat tanzanite gemstone, opals and diamonds (1.58 carats) carries a $10,000-$15,000 estimate. A 14K gold ring, with a 10-carat emerald-cut aquamarine and diamonds is expected to go for $4,000-$6,000.

There is a selection of diamond bands, earrings and several diamond, emerald and sapphire bracelets. A signed Judith Ripka 18K gold, diamond and ruby brooch (below), approximately 16.3 grams troy weight, is estimated at $13,000-$18,000.

Apart from the outstanding selection of jewelry, fine art offerings from a Massachusetts estate include a Franz Hohenberger (Austrian, 1867-1941) oil on canvas titled The Artist Studio; an Antoine Blanchard (French, 1910-1988) Paris street scene, oil on canvas; and a Frank Vining Smith (American, 1879-1967) oil on canvas of a ship with three masts.

A Chrysalide vase by Lalique, a vintage Gibson Les Paul Deluxe guitar, an Italian pietra dura table, a six-piece Whiting sterling silver tea set, antique Oriental carpets and Wormley for Dunbar furniture are among the other top lots in the sale.
