NEW YORK – A pair of 18K gold, ruby and diamond earrings by Bulgari; a 14K gold, diamond, ruby and emerald butterfly brooch; and a Verdura 18K gold, jade and diamond ring will compete for top-lot status at Jasper52’s next Exclusive Estate and Designer Jewelry auction, which will be conducted on Tuesday, March 21 at 8 pm Eastern time. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

The 355 lots in the sale include a wealth of temptations and delights, some by well-known designers and others by unknowns. Particularly worthy of mention is an Art Deco platinum ring centered on a 10.03-carat, GIA-certified old oval brilliant cut white diamond; a 1960s Buccellati necklace-earrings set featuring 18K gold, diamonds and 120 carats of green tourmalines; an absolutely stunning 1950s Seaman Schepps angular bangle bracelet in 14K gold, turquoise and deep blue Bakelite; and a tussle sautoir necklace strung entirely with emerald beads.

Also commanding attention is a Mario Buccellati 18K gold and yellow sapphire ring; a Van Cleef & Arpels gold and lapis lazuli bead necklace, dating to the 1970s; a Chaumet 18K gold, diamond and coral ring from the same decade, in a bold, rugged design; a delicate-looking Edwardian-era platinum, opal and diamond pendant by Bailey, Banks & Biddle; and a Patek Philippe 18K gold lapel pocket watch, created in Switzerland at the turn of the previous century.

Leading the highlights is a pair of 18K gold, ruby and diamond earrings made by Bulgari in the 1980s. The oval-faceted rubies weigh in at 2.70 carats, and the round brilliant cut diamonds, which are of F-G color and VS1 clarity, total 1.50 carats. The Bulgari earrings are estimated at $20,000-$24,000.

Next is a 14K gold, diamond, ruby and emerald butterfly-form brooch that also dates to the 1980s. Its maker is unknown. The diamonds are round brilliant cut, possess G-H color and VS clarity and weigh approximately 1.50 carats. The rubies are pear cut and weigh 1.30 carats in all, and the round emerald that forms the butterfly’s head weighs 0.03 of a carat. It is estimated at $4,500-$5,500.

Completing the highlights is a 1966 18K gold, platinum, jade and yellow and white diamond cocktail ring by Verdura. The three marquise cabochon pieces of jade total 3.36 carats; the 97 single cut yellow diamonds account for 1.64 carats; and the 50 round brilliant cut white diamonds contribute 1.09 carats. The size 6 ring carries an estimate of $28,000-$34,000.
