CHICAGO – Wright presents Art + Design at auction on Thursday, Jan. 18. This curated sale brings together compelling designs and original works of art, prints and photography. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

Featured fine art includes Jeff Koons’ Pink Bow from his Celebration Series. The signed and numbered pigment print on Japanese watercolor paper (above) is number 30 from an edition of 50 and published by New Art Editions, The Hague. From a private collection in Chicago, the artwork has a $10,000-$15,000 estimate.

American painter Kehinde Wiley (b. 1977) is also featured in the auction with an oil on canvas from 1998 titled Limbo Series #5. The 14-by-11-inch portrait (below) is from a San Francisco private collection and estimated at $10,000-$15,000.

Sculpture in the auction includes Memory of Sophie Calle’s Flower by Frank Gehry. This 2012 work in cast urethane, birch plywood, lacquered wood is number 14 from an edition of 28 published by Gemini G.E.L., Los Angeles. It also has a $10,000-$15,000 estimate.

Twentieth-century design figures prominently in the 292-lot auction. A rare armchair by American designer Gilbert Rohde and manufactured by Troy Sunshade Co. in the early 1930s is pictured in Gilbert Rohde: Modern Design for Modern Living, Ross, pg. 108. This classic modern chair has a $5,000-$7,000 estimate.

Italian designers include Carlo Nason, whose frosted glass table lamp for A.V. Mazzega, is offered with a $2,000-$3,000 estimate.
