MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Charleston Estate Auction’s will hold their annual spring premier event Sunday, April 28. The auction features an exceptional selection of fine art, a large collection of American sterling silver, gorgeous rugs, antique furniture, fine jewelry, bronzes, Nippon porcelain, scarce baseball cards, decoys, antique fly reels and sporting books. Fine art offered includes a large oil on Linen titled Shem Creek (above), 1999, by Betty Anglin Smith; a stunning oil on panel Warm Fall Glow, Johns Island, 1997, by West Fraser; oil on canvas still life of flowers and music by Eugene Henri Cauchois; large gouache on paper Sag Road by Robert Warren Dash; Four mischievous kittens at play by Daniel Merlin; three works by Roger Bailey; and a large collection of oil paintings by listed French artists.

The sporting category features Eastern Shore decoys from the estate of George A. Gehrken, a large variety of antique fly reels and scarce sporting books including Roland Clark’s Etchings by the Derrydale Press, New York, 1938, large book, first edition, No. 257 of 800 copies.

There will also be rare baseball and sport cards in excellent condition from a lifelong Charleston collection, including a 1967 Johnny Unitas, 1959 Yogi Berra, a rare 1979-80 O-Pee-Chee Wayne Gretzky rookie card and many other older and scarce cards.

The sterling silver includes several lots of outstanding American items including two pairs of early 20th century repousse and chased candlesticks, Dominik & Haff covered vegetable tureens, an early 20th century loving trophy cup, as well as an American five-piece Gorham George I sterling tea set.

Jewelry includes a 6.95 carat total weight diamond ring, diamond earrings, pieces by John Hardy, David Yurman, Lagos, Pandora, as well as a Tudor watch, and substantial 14K gold bracelets and necklaces.
