Most of the lots in this exciting event will be offered with low or no reserve at all. The start time for the sale is 6 p.m. Eastern.
Auction highlights start with a 4-piece Ball, Tompkins & Black coin silver teaset by silversmith J.C. Moore. The set was crafted during Moore’s pre-Tiffany & Co. years. Other key lots include: an antique Japanese signed carved ivory tusk depicting warriors hunting, a Wm. J. Hays 1862 Civil War-era Western painting of a buffalo from the artist’s early and acclaimed Native American series, and a Noel Georges BouvardVenice canal Impressionist oil with local estate provenance.
Additionally, the sale includes the Pine Ridge Black Hills Kyle, S.D., Sioux beaded clothing, jewelry and vintage photographs from the Estate of Painted Horn Eagle, the adopted name of Indian ethnologist William Edwards. A native of Pittsburgh, Edwards resided on the South Dakota reservation twice in the 1920s as a guest of White Buffalo.
