Folk art masterpieces abound in Slotin auction April 25-26

Slotin Auction has scoured the country to bring the rare and unique items out for this sale – nearly 1,200 lots including Southern folk pottery, self-taught and outsider art, important decoys from the Gene and Linda Kangas collection, folk carvings, weather vanes, Navajo folk art and Art Brut.

A gorgeous oil-on-canvas memory painting by Mattie Lou O’Kelley, Summer in the Hills, is signed and dated 1978. Estimate: $25,000-$30,000.

A rare graphite on paper Caballero by Art Brut master Martin Ramirez, whose work is now featured on a USPS forever stamp. Estimate: $35,000-$45,000.
