PHILADELPHIA — Freeman’s is pleased to present two back-to-back auctions — Art and Design on Wednesday, December 8 and Luxe: Boutique Jewelry on Thursday, December 9 — that offer many opportunities for collecting and gifting this holiday season. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

Art and Design

The highlight of Freeman’s December 8 sale is a selection of furniture by renowned New Hope furniture maker George Nakashima, from a triple sliding-door hanging wall cabinet, estimated at $30,000-$50,000, to a walnut and rosewood Conoid dining table, estimated at $20,000-$30,000.

In addition to ample Nakashima collecting opportunities, Art and Design offers a cabinet by James Martin, estimated at $10,000-$15,000; a Paul Evans Skyline coffee table, estimated at $6,000-$8,000; and a Warren Platner dining table and six dining chairs, estimated at $6,000-$8,000.

Classic favrile Tiffany Studios desk and table lamps from the estate of Gabriele Lee highlight the sale, including a Jeweled Turtleback lamp estimated at $8,000-$12,000, and a Colonial lamp estimated at $8,000-$12,000.

Iron “sketches” by Samuel Yellin include his study for the Philadelphia Museum of Art, estimated at $8,000-$12,000, and his study for the New York City Central Savings Bank, estimated at $6,000-$8,000.
