PHILADELPHIA — With a keen focus on the classic diamond, Freeman’s next Jewelry and Watches auction, scheduled for Tuesday, November 22, delivers elegant collecting and gifting opportunities ahead of the holiday season. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers. Of particular distinction are two rings in timeless styles — a Tiffany & Co. 5.13-carat oval cut diamond ring, and a 5.85-carat round brilliant diamond ring — each with six-figure estimates.
“We’re honored to present such a distinguished collection of diamonds, gemstones and other works in the upcoming auction,” said Head of Freeman’s Jewelry and Watches department Lourdes Winnick. “The diamond market is strong and trending upward, and in this tight market, we expect competition for and strong sales of our top diamond lots.”
Freeman’s November 22 Jewelry and Watches sale features no less than 10 Rolex timepieces, led by a 1975 President Day-Date with a Spanish calendar wheel, estimated at $15,000-$20,000.
Collectors will be pleased to find pieces such as a Cartier 18K gold, diamond and cabochon emerald brooch, estimated at $20,000-$30,000; a Bulgari Tubogas Serpenti watch in 18K gold, estimated at $8,000-$12,000; and an 18k gold tank wristwatch by Patek Philippe for Tiffany & Co., also estimated at $8,000-$12,000.
Art Deco designs — with their distinct geometric patterns and brightly colored gemstones — are on full display in the November 22 Jewelry and Watches auction. Standouts include a platinum and diamond bracelet, estimated at $25,000-$35,000, followed by a platinum and diamond bracelet by Raymond Yard boasting 256 diamonds in total, which carries an estimate of $10,000-$15,000.
Pieces such as a diamond-and-ruby double-clip brooch, made by Bailey, Banks & Biddle in the 1930s, complement any garment with striking Art Deco flair; its estimate is $3,000-$5,000. Also alluring is a platinum and diamond pendant that can alternately function as a pin, which has an estimate of $10,000-$15,000.
