Gigantic Jamali painting to be featured at Associate Auctions Nov. 20
STUART, Fla. – K.C. Daniel and Associate Auctions will sell an eclectic collection of fine art on Friday, Nov. 20. One colossal piece by Jamali stands out among the various listed and emerging artists whose work is lined up for auction day.
The enormous abstract depiction of Greek mythological heroes Achilles and Patroclus is rendered in fresco tempura and measures 59 inches by 110 inches. The complex textural technique of fresco tempura is a desirable medium among Jamali collectors, who are well known throughout the world and include celebrities like Ophrah Winfrey and royalty like the Prince of Saudi Arabia.
The style of Jamali’s work inspired critics to create the new genre of art now known as Mystical Expressionism to describe the abstract contemporary style of Jamali, which is infused with themes of spirituality and mysticism as embraced within various cultures.
Forbes magazine recognized Jamali for publishing the history of his sales and giving his collectors and investors the realized value of his artwork within the marketplace. The article states: “Jamali has taken the unprecedented step of publishing his sale prices by medium and size for a recent 10-year period. This information allows clients to make confident choices, and provides a valuable perspective on how investments in Jamali’s artwork have appreciated of time” (+776% for the decade ending 2010).
