WAYNE, Pa. – Over 470 lots comprising a diverse and interesting worldwide collection of items—to include signed prints by Louis Icart, antique clocks and pocket watches, Chinese scrolls, other Asian objects, art glass vases and more—will be sold in an Internet-only auction already online and ending July 19 at 10:30 a.m. EDT by Gordon S. Converse & Co.

Bidders may participate right now LiveAuctioneers.com/catalog/30670. Images of all the lots have been posted, along with high and low estimates.

“There are some real bargains in this auction,” said Gordon Converse. “Many items—quality items, great gift items—carry estimates of less than $100.”

The Icart prints are sure to be a hit with collectors. Both are signed in pencil, framed, numbered and dated (1924). One is an oval form print, titled Old Yarn, and measures 17 inches by 21 inches (est. $1,000-$1,250). The other is a rectangular form print, framed and masked with a sight of 18 3/4 inches by 22 1/2 inches. Titled The Poet, the print should realize $1,000-$1,500.

Louis Justin Laurent Icart was born in Toulouse, France in 1890 and died in Paris in 1950. He lived in New York City in the 1920s, where he became known for his Art Deco color etchings of glamorous women. Also in the auction is an oil on board by Danish artist Valdemar Thomsen (1897-1957), of a snow-covered landscape. The signed, framed work should hit $400.

Antique Chinese scrolls will include three lots—in quantities of six, eight and nine scrolls—have estimates of $1,000-$2,000 each. The nine scrolls measure about 34 inches by 16 inches each; the six scrolls, in polychrome watercolors, are 33 inches by 17 inches each; and the eight scrolls are in watercolor, same size as the six scrolls. Single scrolls will also be available.

One of the headliners of the clocks, watches and timepieces category is a sphinx-shape mantel clock, 14 1/2 inches, expected to bring $1,500-$3,000. Also offered will be an open faced pocket watch with a 14-karat white gold case made by the Howard company, with a 17-jewel movement (est. $300-$400); and an open faced, gold filled pocket watch with a porcelain dial signed “Elgin” and the 21-jewel engraved movement signed “Father Time” (est. $80-$150).

Other timepieces will include a Swiss watch by Nardin in a gold and black enameled hunting case, with a 15- or 13-jewel stem wind lever set bar lever movement, in running shape; a clock mounted in what looks like a tiny, old-time refrigerator, with four matching salt and pepper shakers (8 1/2 inches tall); and a nonfunctioning (but very convincing) plate in the form of a clock dial (12 1/4 inches diameter), signed Ralph Lauren and marked “Wedgwood Bone China.”

Asian objects will feature a Chinese hollow carved Qing Dynasty Hetian jade pendant with birds and flowers (est. $400-$600); a late 18th/early 19th century blue and white glazed Chinese charger (est. $300-$500); a hollow cast bronze Chinese Buddha figure, 14 inches tall (est. $300-$400); and sealed Chinese envelope art, showing a mountain scene (est. $400-$500).

Additional offerings from the Asian category include a Chinese watercolor rendering with cover, dated 1997 and measuring 134 cm by 68 cm; a Chinese watercolor book, measuring 6 3/4 inches by 12 1/2 inches when closed; a late 18th/early 19th century Chinese blue and white porcelain glazed charger, 17 1/2 inches in diameter; a Chinese oil painting of a nude girl, 24 inches by 36 inches, signed; and a Chinese Hetian white jade bangle, outside diameter 3 inches.

Art glass pieces will feature a goblet (or vase) in blue, 7 inches tall (est. $60-$150); and a 3 3/4-inch bud vase of glass in the form of an apple, signed Kosta. Other items of note include a bronze and marble desk set, 8 inches wide (est. $100-$200); a cast-iron unpainted toy dirigible (est. $250-$350); and a carved, gold leaf decorated Baroque-style mirror (45 1/2 inches by 28 inches). Hundreds of other decorative accessories will also cross the block.
