LOS ANGELES – On Saturday, March 28, GWS Auctions will present “Artifacts of Hollywood, Presidents & Music,” a sale that will feature personally owned items of Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, Michael Jackson, John Lennon, Ronald Reagan and many other stars and celebrities. One of the top lots in the auctions is a pair of wire-rim prescription eyeglasses owned by John Lennon of the Beatles. The glasses will be accompanied by a letter of provenance from a woman who states that her father was a gardener who worked at Tittenhurst Park, the English county home of Lennon and Yoko Ono from the late summer of 1969 until August 1971. He was gifted the glasses from a senior gardener who was given the glasses by Lennon. The glasses are expected to sell for $80,000-$90,000.

A custom-made sequin jacket personally worn by Michael Jackson comes with a six-page letter of provenance from a security guard who worked under Michael Jackson’s security chief Bill Bray on the 1984 Pepsi commercial that went awry. The letter of provenance details the day of the commercial shoot and the moment when the pyrotechnics malfunctioned catching Michael’s hair on fire. Jackson remembered the guard who helped him that day and gifted him with this jacket for his 11-year-old son who was a huge fan. The jacket is completely covered in shiny blue sequins and has an interior label that reads “Michael Jackson.” The jacket is also labeled “WCC 2361-1 #2 MICHAEL JACKSON” handwritten on the lining (est. $40,000-$45,000).

The haunting images of Marilyn Monroe’s “Last Sitting” with legendary fashion photographer Bert Stern in June 1962, just six months before her untimely death, are unforgettable. GWS Auctions will offer the 94-inch-long faux pearl necklace the Monroe wore for the photoshoot. The necklace comes with a letter of provenance from a man who states that he purchased it from Marilyn’s hairdresser Kenneth Battelle, who worked on the shoot and kept the piece as a memento (est. $45,000-$50,000).

Actor Tommy Lee Jones played the villainous Two-Face in the 1995 movie Batman Forever. His costume and a life-sized mannequin complete with the head of Two-Face, which has incredible life-like details, is elevated to a starring role in the GWS auction (est. $30,000-$32,000).

Presidential items in the auction include a typed letter signed by Ronald Reagan to the entertainer and supporter Danny Thomas and a colorful necktie signed by Donald Trump at his 2019 State of the Union Address.

GWS Auctions’ “Artifacts of Hollywood, Presidents & Music” sale will begin Saturday, March 28, at 10 a.m. Pacific Time/1 p.m. Eastern.
