Hong Kong’s Ruda Gallery to offer fine Asian arts April 8

HONG KONG – Ruda Gallery will offer 427 lots of high-quality Asian arts on Monday, April 8. Major pieces include Tibetan Buddhist art, jades, wood carvings, enamel, and Japanese royal silverware and copper objects. Absentee and Internet live bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

Highlights include a Qing Dynasty palace cloisonne copper box in good condition (above), which is expected to achieve or surpass its highly estimated of $4,000.

Tibetan items include a pair of rare Buddha figural gilded copper lamp stands from the 18th or 19th century (est. $$9,000-$12,000).

Topping the silver category is the rare Japanese royal five-piece sterling teapot tea set. Its chrysanthemum pattern is the emblem of the Shogun era Sakura royal family (est. $11,000-$15,000).

The top piece of porcelain in the 427-lot auction is a Qing Dynasty kiln blue and white bottle standing about 8¾ inches high (est. $8,000-$12,000).
