Jasper52 Asian arts auction Feb. 4 extends beyond China

NEW YORK – Jasper52 is presenting an Asian art and antique auction on Saturday, Feb. 4. The auction features ceramics, paintings, textiles and lacquer items from China, Japan and Southeast Asia. Absentee and Internet bidding is available through LiveAuctioneers.

Bronze statues in the 120-lot sale include an 18th century Sino Tibet Shakyamuni (above), 8 inches tall, which carries an $8,000-$10,000 estimate.

A striking lacquer painting, Fishing Under the Moonlight by Nguyen Khang (below), is expected to sell for $15,000-$20,000.

Qian Song Ai’s view from a mountain of distant boats in the water is done in a traditional style. The image (below) is 19 1/4 inches wide by 38 inches long.

An Indian hair ornament of 22K gold depicts Bali Krishna dancing. The 2 5/8-inch disc (below) is estimated at $5,000-$7,000.

One of the oldest items in the sale is a 13 1/2-inch-tall Tang Dynasty (618-907 CE) figurine of a woman.
