NEW YORK – A men’s silver turquoise ring; a silver, turquoise and coral cuff bracelet featuring a ladies’ watch; and a vintage vermeil filigree floral brooch will likely earn top lot status at Jasper52’s Vintage Silver and Southwest Treasures auction, which will be held on Monday, January 9 at noon Eastern time. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

The January 9 sale offers much to discover, virtually brimming with things you didn’t know you wanted until you laid eyes on them. Its 211 lots boast an abundance of rings, among them a unisex Modernist-design ring that winds tendrils of sterling silver around a red-orange chunk of agate; a men’s size 11 ring centered on a rectangular black onyx; more than one silver ring set with a piece of malachite; and a mid-century example set with an alluring oval piece of blue glass.

Other notable lots include a circa-1940s-1960s brooch sporting a trio of silver ducks in a neat row; a 16in silver necklace with a heart-shape lapis lazuli pendant; an eight-inch sterling bracelet bezel-set with nuggets of charoite, a purple stone; a sterling silver brooch in the form of a Calla lily, accented with a cultured pearl; and a sterling silver necklace that centers on a shimmering blue cat’s eye stone.

Leading the aforementioned highlights is a circa-1960s-1970s men’s silver turquoise ring, size 10.5. The lot notes describe the oval stone as “big and bold,” and it measures 20.5 by 16 milimeters, or about .62 of an inch by .80 of an inch. It has an estimate of $70-$80.

Equally worthy of mention is a vermeil filigree floral brooch, made in Portugal in the 1930s or 1940s and estimated at $40-$50. The lot notes describe it as being in “very good condition.”

Completing the highlights is a silver, turquoise and coral cuff bracelet, possibly Navajo and possibly dating to the first half of the 20th century. It incorporates a ladies’ quartz watch that is in need of a battery. According to the lot notes, “The watch is just being thrown in – the pricing is based on the cuff.” It carries an estimate of $200-$250.
