NEW YORK – A substantial and wide-ranging auction titled Artful Interiors: Decorative Art & Furniture will be presented online Wednesday, Aug. 7, by Jasper52. Bidders will discover an array of decorative objects—antique to modern—to enhance their abode. Bid absentee or live online through LiveAuctioneers.

A fabulous pair of French Louis XVI-style painted and parcel-gilt trumeau mirrors is an excellent example of the Hollywood Regency style and harken to the Golden Age of the movies. The large mirrors exhibit beautifully carved motifs above the framed mirror plate. The panel is decorated with a floral motif and carved musical instruments. Made in the 1920s, the mirrors show wear consistent with age and use.

Fans of the Art Deco style should take a close look at a brand new pair of armchairs by German craftsmen. The chairs are hand-built of Macassar wood and finished in hand-polished high-gloss lacquer. The chairs are upholstered with elegant, high-quality gray fabric.

At 47 inches high, a rare Swedish Westerstrands lighted wall clock will be a statement piece of any room. The double-sided electric clock has one of its faces oriented to install upright. The buyer can decide which way both faces should be shown.

More European craftsmanship can be found in an early19th century carved Hapsburg decorative eagle that stands 45½ inches high and has a wingspan of 66 inches. Profusely carved of linden wood, the Gothic-style bird stands on a giltwood ball. In near original condition, it has some minor restorations and age splits. One tailfeather is missing.
