Jasper52’s Wednesday, October 7 Antique to Modern Fine Jewelry Auction offers 676 lots of choice creations to suit every taste, from an 18K gold cocktail ring with a huge 4.75-carat Colombian emerald (estimate $7,000-$8,000) to stunning 14K white gold double-halo engagement ring with a 2.53-carat central diamond ($15,000-$18,000).

Shown at the top of this page, a pair of stunning vintage earrings finely crafted in solid 14K yellow gold features five extremely clean Earth-mined sapphires totaling 1.60 carats (for the pair) as well as nine diamonds, each a different size and/or shape. They include marquise, pear and old mine-cut diamonds estimated to be VS1 clarity and JK color. The total diamond weight for the pair is 4.36 carats. Each earring is equipped with long screw-on posts, and both butterfly and Omega backings. The estimate for the pair is $4,000-$5,000.

Those who appreciate antique jewelry won’t want to overlook Lot 190, a very rare circa-1890s mesh bracelet crafted in solid 16K yellow gold, exquisitely detailed with 12 creamy white seed pearls and stylish black enameling. The bracelet is adjustable to fit any wrist and weighs a very substantial 54.6 grams. Its condition is so beautiful, one might find it hard to imagine it is 120-130 years old. The bracelet has been carefully tested and is fully guaranteed to be as described. The pre-sale estimate is $5,000-$6,000.

Custom creations by Elwood Van Clief (1923-2018), a New York City jeweler who operated his Fifth Avenue business for half a century, are highly desirable but seldom available. His couture jewelry has a very distinctive look, like the signed diamond and platinum brooch entered in the auction as Lot 524. Made around the 1960s, it can be worn either as a brooch or a pendant. It contains 3 pear-cut diamonds, each weighing .50ct, and is additionally adorned with 13 marquise-cut diamonds and 72 channel-set diamonds. The total diamond weight for the piece is 7.56 carats. In outstanding vintage condition, the piece is estimated at $10,000-$12,000.
