Jasper52 presents fine Asian jewelry April 14
NEW YORK – A select collection of fine antique Asian jewelry is offered by Jasper52 in an online auction that will take place Tuesday, April 14. Gold rings, necklaces, bracelets and uncommon forms—most set with precious gems and pearls—are featured. Bid absentee or live online through LiveAuctioneers.
A rigid bangle in the 38-lot auction is inset with rose-cut Intan diamonds set in silver within a border of gold granulation. This substantial bracelet (above) is expected to sell for $5,500-$7,000.
From the Indonesian province of Bali comes a women’s granulated gold-heaped ring that features a ruby held in place with two claws (below; est. $1,500-$2,000).
An unusual amulet in the sale is composed of a carved rock crystal carved in the form of a mango and set in a gold case that opens. Potions were sometimes kept inside the compartment (est. $2,000-$2,500).
Atuf, the solar hero and great hunter, is depicted in a gold pendant. He is seated upon a Hindu-style throne with hands outstretched (est. 12,000-$14,000).
One of the top pieces in the Jasper52 auction is a beautiful necklace consisting of three lines of alternating pearl and ruby clusters (est. $24,000-$29,000).
The Jasper52 auction of Asian fine jewelry will be held online on Tuesday, April 14, starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
