NEW YORK – An Hermes Birkin 35 in fuchsia hammered leather, a vintage Emilio Pucci mini-dress, and a gold quilted Chanel handbag will likely earn top lot status at Jasper52’s Luxury Fashion Auction, which will be presented on Wednesday, August 24 at 6 pm Eastern time. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.
The auction features almost 600 lots, including numerous other pieces by Hermes, among them a Kelly 28 black leather handbag; a Kelly 25 in red togo leather; a double sens Clemence 45 blue and gray leather tote shopping bag; a Sac Mallette handbag in tan leather, with gold metal studs; a yellow cashmere and wool scarf with leather fringes; and a vintage blue suede jacket, size small.
Additional Chanel offerings include a circa-1980s linen suit with black braiding accents; a turquoise floral lace top and skirt outfit; a pair of black and white espadrille sandals with the famous linked C logo; a black tweed short-sleeve mini-dress; a double flap classic patent leather chain shoulder bag in a blue-green color; and a tweed and quilted leather Enchained Boy shoulder bag in dark blue.
Demanding greater attention is a late 20th-century multi-color sequined Emilio Pucci off-the-shoulder-style mini-dress in size 10. The lot notes describe it like so: “A party dress at its finest. This fun multicolored sequin dress by Emilio Pucci showcases the brand’s revolutionary approach to creating shapes, fabrics and colors. Its elasticity makes it easy to wear and provides freedom of movement, which is another Pucci staple feature. This dress is fluid inside out and you won’t want to take it off. The vibrant color palette of this dress shift[s] from deep and bright colors to the subtle hues. An amazing abstract pattern makes this Pucci dress a true piece of fashion art.” It is estimated at $2,500-$3,000.
A fine accompaniment to the dress would be a Chanel quilted Boy shoulder bag in gold-colored calfskin from the 2012 collection. The lot notes state its condition as “Condition A – EXCELLENT Gently used. Minimal wear of use on leather. A couple of black pen marks on the internal lining” and add that it comes “With hologram and dustbag.” Its estimate is $4,500-$5,500.
Another unquestionable jaw-dropper is an Hermes Birkin 35 Epsom Rose Tyrien handbag that sports fuchsia hammered leather (hence the Rose Tyrien descriptor). Produced in 2011, it also has palladium hardware and contrasting white stitching, and according to the lot notes, it is “Almost unused,” and “in excellent condition.” It carries an estimate of $21,000-$22,000.
