NEW YORK – Cutting-edge contemporary art – an elaborate display of mostly conceptually based works on paper by established and emerging artists – will be sold by Jasper52 on Wednesday, Feb. 26. Bid absentee or live online exclusively through LiveAuctioneers.

San Francisco-born artist Tauba Auerbach, who lives and works in New York, has the top estimate in the auction with an aquatint etching titled Fold Slice Topo II 2011. The signed and numbered print (above) is from an edition of 35. It is expected to sell for $3,000-$3,500.

Matt Connors (born 1973) is a New York-based artist working predominantly in abstract painting. His untitled screenprint on paper (below) from 2016 is from an edition of 100 and is signed in pencil (est. $700-$800).

William Wegman (born Dec. 2, 1943) is an American artist best known for creating series of photographic compositions involving dogs, primarily his Weimaraners in costumes and poses. A 2019 untitled color screenprint of one of his canine subjects is from a signed and numbered edition of 100 (est. $1,000-$1,200).

Swedish painter Kent Iwemyr (born in 1944) primarily works in small and medium-sized formats, depicting daily life around him. In numerous scenes of everyday life, he draws on an unusual aesthetic coupled with a fine sense of irony and allusive titles. His signed acrylic on board painting titled Soccer Match from 2001 is a fine example of his work and has a $1,200-$1,500.

John Anthony Baldessari (June 17, 1931–Jan. 2, 2020) was an American conceptual artist known for his work featuring found photography and appropriated images. He lived and worked in Santa Monica and Venice, Calif. His 2010 archival digital print titled Sediment: Throat, Nose and Spider is from an edition of 120 and signed verso (est. $1,500-$2,000).
