Jasper52 unveils fine loose diamonds April 14

3.02 ct, Color D/VS1, Oval cut

3.02 carat oval-cut diamond, GIA-graded

NEW YORK – A selection of sizable stones will feature in Jasper52s‘s Fine Loose Diamonds sale, scheduled for April 14 and starting at 6 pm Eastern time. No longer in the rough, these diamonds need your imagination — or that of a jewelry designer — to realize their full potential. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

Leafing through the digital catalog will present you with 498 lots’ worth of tantalizing options waiting to be transformed into a necklace, bracelet, ring, or whatever else you might have in mind. But if you prefer to keep the diamonds unbound to any setting, stashing them in a black velvet pouch and showing them only to your dearest friends, you certainly may. If you place the winning bid and fulfill it, the diamond is yours, and so is your choice regarding the glittering stone’s future. Virtually all of the white or clear diamonds in this sale have been graded by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

Shown at the head of this story is a brand new, recently cut 3.02 carat oval-cut diamond with excellent symmetry and polish, and no fluorescence. It has an appraised value of $140,100 and carries an estimate of $72,000-$86,000.

3.01 carat round-cut diamond

3.01 carat emerald-cut diamond, GIA-graded

Matching them both on style and beauty is a 3.01 carat emerald-cut diamond appraised at $92,200. Like the others, it was recently cut and displays excellent symmetry and polish, and no fluorescence. It is estimated at $48,000-$58,000.
